His pedigree is star filled. In the first four generations alone, you will find El Dorado Gold Chain, Modern Creation, Status Symbol, Winter Carnival, Supreme Sultan, CH Valley View Supreme, Melody O' Lee, CH The Carnival Queen and Flashy Bourbon Peavine. Old tried and true bloodlines at their best!
Flash is heavily line bred to Black Squirrel, Bourbon Chief, Bourbon King, Chester Dare, Harrison Chief, Rex Denmark, Rex McDonald and Rex Peavine. He has multiple lines (both sire and dam lines) to Princess Eugenia (BHF), Japanette (BHF), Stonewall King, Rex Monroe, Montrose, Montgomery Chief, McDonald Chief, CH King’s Genius, Kalarama Rex, Jack Twigg, Highland Denmark, Guided By Love, Forest King and Easter Cloud. He also has 21 Broodmare Hall of Fame mares in his first 7 generations!
Flash's last National level show news comes from the 2012 Pinto World Show, where he was named World Champion Saddle Type Stallion in Halter! He also earned some nice points on the individual judge cards. He was first on a card in the Open Three Gaited class, fifth on a card in the Open English Pleasure Saddleseat 6 & over class and he was 2nd on a card in the Ideal Pinto English Saddleseat class!! He also is a 2011 2x Color Breed Congress World Champion and a 2011 Color Breed Congress Top 6 Award Winner! In 2010, Flash was the Pinto Horse of the Year in Saddle Type Open Halter Competition. He was awarded his first Pinto ROM for halter in 2005. He was only 2 1/2 years old at the time! In 2012 he earned his Pinto ROM's in Tobiano Color, Ideal English, Three Gaited/Park and English Pleasure. He was also awarded his Pinto Champion Title from the Pinto Registry!!!! Flash also earned the Year End Reserve High Point Three Gaited Horse on the extremely competitive Minnesota Pinto show circuit. He was also named to the National Year End Open Top Ten High Point Pinto Horse List in 3 categories....Saddle Type English Pleasure, Ideal Pinto English and Three Gaited (he was 3rd overall in the nation in 3-gaited!).
He is not only gorgeous and rare in coloration, but he is one of THE most correct horses we have ever known! This gives him the athletic ability to succeed in a variety of disciplines. His temperament is second to none. So many that know him rave about how well mannered and gentle he is. To have all this wrapped up in one package is simply a dream come true!
He is tested by The University of Kentucky to be homozygous for the tobiano gene. This means that he will always produce a spotted (tobiano pinto) foal, no matter what color of mare he is bred to.
Flash has 17 known foals to date. Most are lovely purebred saddlebreds, with one filly having been exported to Honduras (in-utero). So far buckskins, bays, chestnut, palomino, cremellos and perlinos have been the foal colors, with 7 of them being fillies. One of his sons, Dreaming of El Dorado, is naturally 5-gaited! Another son, IGA Hot Cha Cha Rumba, was a multiple winner in hand and in color classes. Tragically, he passed away in 2011 after a serious accident. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and trainer. He was a beautiful mover! Another half saddlebred/half arabian son, DW Santana's Fyre, is making his presence known in the Minnesota Pinto show rings in halter and hunter under saddle classes! He's doing quite well in his early years of showing! Flash also has another purebred saddlebred son, Back in a Flash, who is becoming quite the show horse! He was named an 8 time Pinto World Champion in 2017, at only 5 years old! We are so proud of Flash's foals! He's truly producing our idea of what an ideal, all around saddlebred should be!
Flash's book is now closed to outside mares. My health necessitates slowing down with the full sized horses and their breeding at this time.
